Her husband thought she needed professional help, but that all changed...
As we know Omega-3 can have a beneficial effect on the mental health of a person. In this article Naomi tells her story about how her mental health took a turn for the worse and how her marriage suffered under it.
After the birth of her last child she found it more and more difficult to juggle daily life, her three boys, work, marriage...
She went to the GP, but he dismissed the fact that she could suffer from stress as she is such a competent person.
On top of that, her whole family (father and sisters) have a job either in psychiatry or psychology, so it’s not like she didn’t know about mental health.
Still, her mood swings, anxiety and bad temper symptoms from the stress wouldn’t go away.
” I sometimes found myself taking a very black view of life. It only took some small thing to go wrong - a letter to get lost, a plate to break - for me to explode. Sometimes I found relief in frantic housework, bordering on the obsessional. I would stay up into the middle of the night until I had accomplished everything. “
Everyone in her family suffered under Naomi’s feelings and even her husband said that it might be good if she would “see someone”.
During a conversation with her sister about vitamins and diet, her sister mentioned that fish oil can help for just about any stress related thing with women.
” They had been highly effective, she added, in treatment of patients diagnosed with bipolar disorder (manic depression). “
After this, Naomi started taking Omega-3 and her mood swings, anxiety and overall mental health improved substantially.
” Interestingly, scientists here and in America have been working on the beneficial properties in treating depression of substances contained in certain fish oils for some 30 years. Parallel work has established the effectiveness of the Omega-3 in fish oil in helping conditions such as arthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, Crohn's disease, menstruation problems and high cholesterol.
Sufferers from real depression may be able to take hope from the mood-stabilising effects of active substances contained within concentrated Omega-3 fatty acids. In countries where fish consumption is high, it has been observed that depression rates are lower than in lowfish- consumption countries. Harvard researchers have found that Omega-3 fatty acids helped to stabilise the mental functioning of bipolar patients. “
This is what Naomi has to say about it:
” I believe I am a living embodiment of the life-enhancing properties of fish oil. It has made me more tolerant of the mess generated by three young children and far calmer in disposition.
My husband has made no comment about the large glass jars of vitamins that have suddenly appeared. However, he has spotted a connection between this latest fad and my recent Zen-like state. He has let drop that fish oil may have saved our marriage - and he hasn't recently suggested I seek professional help. “
So, as you can see, this is only the effect of Omega-3 from fish oil, which is much less effective and efficient than krill oil. Imagine what a difference it will mean for improving or maintaining your mental health when taking JellyFish Krill Oil supplements.
